Siesta Beach Wedding Resort Planner

Siesta key beach wedding & resort planning guide

Certain things in life seem to go together naturally and one of those things happens to be a Siesta key beach wedding and a Siesta key beach wedding resort stay.

Many couples are arriving here in Siesta key from other locations; many are from other parts of Florida and many others from one of our northern states.

Whatever the case may be, we get quite a few questions about where to stay on Siesta key directed to us along with requests for one of our beach wedding packages.

Ask About Siesta Key Beach Wedding & Resort Stay Deals – Deals on Siesta Resorts

So let’s go over some options for your Siesta key beach resort stay.

Siesta key Beach Wedding Stay Option List:

  • Resorts
  • Condominiums
  • Short Term Rentals
  • Single Family Homes for Rent
  • Time Shares
  • Hotels
  • Motels

Resorts

Siesta key has a number of beach resorts that work wonderfully for most wedding couples. You can book your stay anywhere from a single night to a 2 week wedding-moon retreat. Most of the Siesta key beach resorts are small businesses and usually family run. The problem here is knowing the good from the bad, the updated resorts from the ‘stuck-in-the-70’s’ resorts.

Condos

Plenty of condos on Siesta key, that’s for sure. But, many of the condos aren’t for rent at any time of the year, others are. It helps to do some research to find available gems but, many good condo rental possibilities stay hidden and unadvertised. Again, some great options here for beach wedding couples & guests and also some real dogs.

Short Term Rentals

These short term rentals could be micro-resorts, apartments or single family homes. This is a possibility but not a probability. Stay away unless you really know for sure what you’re doing, I hate to waste money and I’m sure you do to.

Single Family Home Rentals

This is a nice option if you have a few thousand or more to spend for a week’s stay on Siesta key. Single family home rentals are a moving target on Siesta so it really helps to have a realtor or two that has their pulse on the marketplace.

The number of single family homes available for short term rental are limited, don’t get your hopes up and be prepared to compromise.

Time Shares

I know that there are some time share rentals available, although like ‘Bigfoot’ I have never seen one. Moving on.

Hotels

There is one hotel in the Siesta key village area. Nothing to write home about, there’s better options on Siesta key.

Motels

Again, nothing to see here. Better options available above.

Conclusion

Siesta key beach weddings and resort stays do go together and why not? Every destination beach wedding couple needs a place to stay when they come to Siesta Key and we’re committed to helping them.

We’re here to guide and provide answers to all of our beach wedding customers and that means helping them and their guests find a nice place to stay while on the key.

News: Siesta Beach Wedding Lockout Dates 2013

Siesta Key’s most famous beach for beach weddings gets shut-down and locked out for beach wedding events each and every year. For 2013 the Sarasota county parks department ( they control the beach & beach weddings ) will have a number of days throughout the summer months where beach weddings are off limits. This news post will provide you with a schedule of days in 2013 that beach weddings will be locked out at Siesta public beach. This lockout does NOT effect any of Siesta keys other beaches.

Why The Lockout at Siesta?

Siesta beach weddings take second place to the annual volleyball tournaments that invade Siesta’ public beach. Now the truth is that volleyball is being played down the other end of the beach and never comes close to the beach wedding area. But, that’s not the problem, that’s not why the parks department shuts down beach weddings on these days.

The feeling is that the parking lot will be so full from visitors coming to watch volleyball that their won’t be enough parking for beach wedding guests. Yes, they do make a great point about the parking. Parking on a good day at Siesta is challenging, finding parking 20, 30, 40 or more parking spaces for all those wedding friends and family would be next to impossible on volleyball days.

What Are The Siesta Beach Wedding Shutdown Days for 2013?

Beach Shutdown Calendar 2013

April: 13, 20, 21

May: 18, 19

June: 14, 15, 16

July: 12, 13, 14

Any More?

These are all the Siesta beach wedding shut-down days at this moment but the parks department could release more at any time without notice. I had a bride reserve her Siesta beach wedding location on April 13th 2013, long before the parks department decided on the April shutdown days. They allowed the wedding on that day and it went off no problem, the total guest count was about 50, no parking problems because we did a sunset beach wedding on Siesta and the volleyball people were long gone by the time the wedding was scheduled.

I’ll do my best to update this blog post on Siesta public beach wedding lockdown days, so check back every once in awhile. I’ll also be providing this Siesta beach wedding news as well as other wedding related news on Siesta Key in the future.

Want A Tropical Beach Wedding Without Going To The Tropics?

What do you see when you’re dreaming of a “Tropical” beach wedding getaway?

I don’t know what you’re seeing but, here’s what I’d be dreaming of…

“A warm summer day on some laid-back Tropical Island. The beach sand is softly caressing my toes as I walk. As I look around me to one side a steel drummer is playing calypso music… my wedding guests are dancing, talking, having a great time of it. Even the twilight sun hanging low over the horizon is enjoying my tropical wedding so much it refuses to set.”

Tropical Beach Weddings by SarasotaWeddingIdeas.com

Great dream, now back to reality…

Unfortunately, arranging a beach wedding on some ‘out-of-the-country’ tropical island is a lot of preparation & work. And can you really be sure what you’re gonna get?

I don’t know, I’ve heard about some successes and some Tropical beach wedding outcomes that we’re, well let’s just say “much less than advertized.”

But…

Who says that you need to leave the country, try’n land on some short & scary island runway to have your dream ‘Tropical’ beach wedding?

Here’s a fact: You don’t have to go to the Tropics for a Tropical beach wedding!

I know because I do Tropical Beach Weddings right here in on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota Florida all the time.

We even have the “Tropical” weather to prove it… we also have many other wonderful islands and keys just waiting for brides and grooms to take advantage of, right here in the good old U.S.A.

Our gulf coast Florida location is just as good as any Tropical retreat, maybe better.

So remember to include us in your ‘Tropical beach wedding dreams.’ Sarasota Florida and Siesta Key Beach are beach wedding worthy. And don’t forget having your beach wedding in the U.S. has other benefits starting with affordability.

What; You thought that those “Tropical Island Weddings” are cheap?

Just thinking here…Maybe we should change our business tag line to…

”Tropical Weddings Made in the U.S.A. by SarasotaWeddingIdeas.com”

Sorry… just a thought.

Leave The Planning To Us

The only thing couples need to know is that they’re coming to the greater Sarasota Florida area and are looking to be married. Once you contact us about an elopement package we’ll take over the job as your elopement wedding planner. As always our elopement packages are budget friendly and very affordable so you can elope in confidence.

What We Need To Know…

The Date

We need the date or dates that you want to elope. Most couples have a specific date that they want to be married.

Location Desired

This area is big on beach weddings with couples arriving from all over the country just to get married on one of our beautiful area beaches. We have beach wedding spots ‘ceremony ready’ on every local beach, from Anna Maria Island to our southern beaches of Venice Florida.

Siesta key public beach is a very special wedding spot. The beach itself is ranked as the #1 beach in America according to Dr. Beach himself. With sugar white sand and ceremony spots set-aside by the county parks dept. Siesta beach has been and will continue to be the most popular beach for weddings in the state of Florida.

Elopement Packages by SarasotaWeddingIdeas.com

Siesta beach isn’t the only beach for weddings & ceremonies, this entire area has beautiful beaches, from the northern beaches of Anna Maria Island through the Bradenton beach areas, Longboat Key, Lido Key beaches and all of Siesta Key and its beaches including Turtle public beach and many more.

More… The Sarasota Florida area has outdoor wedding locations that are not beaches, Sarasota has many outdoor parks and beautiful garden locations to choose from.

Decorations

Whether you, the wedding couple, desire decorations for your wedding ceremony or just a wedding officiant we will make it happen.

Guests

Let us know if you have invited guests and if you wish any of your guests to be a part of your wedding procession or ceremony.

Packages & Pricing

After we find out exactly what you desire your ceremony to be, we’ll email you a with the wedding package details & pricing. Local Sarasota Beach and outdoor weddings are generally very affordable.

Restaurant Receptions & Post Ceremony Dinners

Yes, we can do your reception and dinner planning, just ask.

Is It Easy To Get Around In The Sarasota Area?

Yes, at least we think it’s easy to get around. Streets and roads are laid out in an easy to follow pattern and unlike large cities the residents here will go out of their way to help you with directions.

If you’re staying on one of our keys or islands you might not even need a car. I know guests who vacation on Siesta key near the village area where it’s just a short walk to everything and it’s basically “no car needed” for short stays.

Where Should We Stay?

I would recommend staying at one of the local beach resorts on Siesta key, the same with Lido key and Anna Maria Island. Your wedding should be as fun and relaxing as possible. It’s a one time event that will never happen again in life, so do it right!

What Is The Meaning of a Single Rose ?

Symbols of a Rose

In American culture symbols can be found all around us on a daily basis, from the symbols on money, to the symbols of products we spend it on.

Flower arrangements are used as non-specific symbols on many holiday’s.The Rose Ceremony on Your Wedding Day

Roses on the other hand have very specific symbol’s and meaning’s attached to them. These ‘Rose Specific’ meanings are wonderful for times when you want to evoke a certain meaning, a reminder of a special time or to show continuance of a heartfelt feeling.

On a recent wedding anniversary I presented my wife with a Single Pink Rose as a Symbol of  My Joy & Gratitude for her in my life. This is the specific feeling that I wanted to convey to her and the Pink Rose was the perfect gift along with a special note laid on her pillow.

Each Rose color has a specific ‘Symbol & Meaning’ attached. The giving of a Rose is a rich tradition dating back generations in American culture.

Destination Weddings 12 Reasons Say Yes

12 Reasons to Say Yes to a Destination Wedding in Florida

WARNING: The contents of this article may NOT be appropriate for parents.

RATED: BG (Bride/Groom) Only

The joke is that “Destination Weddings” actually started thousands of years ago with a bride who wanted to get away from an overbearing mother.

The truth is that destination weddings have turned into a favorite. Nowadays destination weddings are a first alternative to traditional weddings.

Destination weddings are generally smaller, cheaper and more intimate. They are quite often combined in a place that also serves as the honeymoon location. And yes, most destination weddings include close friends and family, overbearing parents optional.

This is a countdown of the top reasons /excuses to say yes to your dream destination wedding.

The following reasons were provided to us (SarasotaWeddingIdeas.com) by the many brides and grooms we’ve had the pleasure of serving.

Siesta Key Beach Wedding by SarasotaWeddingIdeas.com

Destination Wedding Countdown

NUMBER 12.   I started planning our wedding and I’m totally overwhelmed. I just got started and I’m stressed out already, there’s got to be another way.

NUMBER 11.   I wrote down my guest list and it’s HUGE, there’s no way we can afford this. Sorry – short on funds, we’re doing a destination wedding instead.

Number 10.   A traditional wedding is just not for me; besides I want to get married somewhere warm…just following my feelings on this.

Number 9.   This is my second marriage and I’ve already done the ‘big wedding ballroom’ thing, this one is going to be personal and fun, lots of fun.

Number 8.   Even as a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of getting married on the beach at sunset and that’s what I’m going to do. Now I just need to find a beach somewhere. (We suggest Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota Florida).

Number 7.   My mother has taken over control of my wedding, this is NOT a good thing it’s a very BAD thing. I’ve tried talking to her but that just doesn’t work. You would think that this was her wedding not mine. This has to STOP!

Number 6.   My fiancé and I already know that we want a small wedding on a beach somewhere, probably in Florida. That’s what we both want and that’s the only reason I need.

Number 5.   Traditional weddings are great but they also cost a lot of money. My fiance and I also really like the idea of an intimate wedding just a few close friends and family not a bunch of people we barely know.

Number 4.   We both have friends and family who live all over the country. What better way to bring everyone together than at a tropical destination.

Number 3.   I’ve heard many older women tell me that if they could do it all over that they would have a destination wedding. So that’s what we’re gonna do, a destination wedding it is. After all, my parents have always told me to listen to my elders and learn from their mistakes. Just do’in what you told me to mom and dad.

Number 2.   We thought it would be a great idea to combine a destination beach wedding and our honeymoon, a ‘WeddingMoon’ and celebrate it all week long. How cool is that?

Number 1.   The stress and cost of a formal wedding is just too much. We both agreed that an intimate beach wedding was what we both dreamed of, case closed. BTW, our parents love the idea!

These are just a few of the reasons to go the destination wedding way. In the end; couples need to trust their feelings on the subject and do what’s in their heart. Remember, your wedding is supposed to be about you, the bride and groom. After all this is your one day, you can’t get it back.

How to Make Posed Wedding Photos Exciting

Imagination Can Transform Posed Wedding Photos Into Unique Treasures

“I don’t want my wedding photos to look like Mom and Dad’s.”

We’ve heard that comment more than a few times from brides and grooms.

The wedding day is a very special day…a unique day in every respect, and your wedding photography should reflect that.

Line em up!

Gone are the days of lining up the parents and wedding party for posed photo shoots. Thank goodness. Those photo lineups have no imagination or uniqueness. How, B.L.A.N.D.

We’re not having posed photos at our wedding!

It’s a shame that many couples aren’t having posed photos.

Why?

Too many couples hired a photographer with no imagination or experience in the art of posed photography.

After all, good photography is an art form, or at least it’s supposed to.

Get posed photos your way…and eat your cake to!

There is no reason for posed wedding photos to be bland (sans imagination) anymore! We’re here to give wedding couples everywhere ideas for fun and fabulous wedding day photos that will rock-it-out.

We have 3 wedding photo ideas for you to use. Don’t feel like you need to use all of these techniques, you’ll get fab photos using one good idea.

Below are some ideas to make those posed wedding photos something that will bring-on-the-smiles for years to come. You and your photographer need to fill in the details, don’t be shy now.

Also, the bride, groom or any member of the wedding party can help think about locally based ideas by using our suggestions below combined with a little imagination.

Don’t forget to make it fun and easy to do.

Props, props and more props…

Just like in the movies it’s all about the props.

Think small, think big & don’t forget to think in between.

From what you’re wearing to all the things that are around you can be considered props to use.

Start with creative use of props that are already in your environment – no cost props are great!  If you aren’t the creative type your photographer needs to be the genius here. Think out of the box. Look for clues, start by asking “who are my bride and groom,” “what are they all about?”

Quick Prop Example: In the brides dressing room…use chairs, couches, walls, doors, mirrors, beds, tables, and closets etc. like props on a set. Have fun with it, laugh a lot.

Outdoor Prop Ideas:

  • Hats
  • Cains
  • Umbrellas
  • Love-seats (light plastic outdoor type)
  • Chairs & small end tables (plastic, cloth cover if necessary)
  • Benches
  • Fences
  • Door steps
  • Stair cases (indoor or outdoor)
  • Porches
  • Barn doors
  • Hold a hand made sign
  • Swing-sets
  • Bar stools
  • Barrels
  • Bails of hay

Key Point: Use props in a creative, unexpected way whenever possible.

Spatial Use?…don’t worry, I’ll explain…

The use of “Space” in photography, pertaining to foreground and background placement. This technique can be used whether the bridal party is inside a small room or open outdoor space.

Make “set” photos look more natural by random placement of the wedding party. Some in the foreground some to the sides, others in the background, keep it real and combine with props if possible.

Tip: You should NOT see ‘people placement patterns’ (PPP) in this type of photo, random is the key.

Idea: Combine this by having your wedding photographer use “depth of field” photography. Have the bride and groom in focus in the foreground with the rest of the wedding party behind and slightly out of focus. Try it out in “Black & White” too.

Neighborhood & Nature photo locations

From small towns and corn fields to big city lights; what does your hood have that would be a fun and interesting photo backdrop?

Is the photo location within a few minutes’ drive from your ceremony or reception venue? If it is, plan on having the wedding party limo stop there for photos. With a little coordination your photographer will already be there, ready to snap what may be the best photos of the day.

Fun photo locations: Old brick buildings, Train tracks, Alley ways (need to be clean & well lit), A Zoo or farm (with animals as props), Waterfalls, Beaches, Gardens, Big trees, Playgrounds, Any place with water, Historical locations, Amusement parks (prop heaven) or at your local Saturday farmers market.

Got some ideas already? Where do you want to go?

How to Book Top Wedding Venues at Budget Prices

Book Top Wedding Venues at Budget Prices

Top wedding venues and reception sites are always high priced options but; there is a way to book the best wedding venues at cheap or value pricing.

Let’s see how…

Top Wedding Venues Command Top Prices

Book Top Wedding Venues

At Budget Pricing

Top wedding & reception venues command top pricing because of their superior location, service and attention to detail. These wedding sites have the best of everything. Many of these best reception sites are older, ornate and have a long history as a top wedding site.

History Note: In the 1970′s their was “no cost” to have your wedding event at most of today’s top sites in Sarasota.

Local Example Works Everywhere

I’ll use an example from a top wedding venue in Sarasota Florida. Top wedding venues all over the country use a similar pricing “structure,” so my method to “get it cheap” should work everywhere in the U.S.

My Sarasota Wedding Venue Example

An example of this is the Ringling Museum in Sarasota Florida. The structure is large with over-the-top ornate detailing. The famous circus magnet John & Mable Ringling used it as their winter home on Sarasota’s bay front for many years.

This one time home was transformed into a public museum which draws thousands of visitors every year and houses John Ringling’s personal collection of paintings and sculptures by master artists the world over.

The Ringling Museum also happens to be a Top Wedding Venue in Sarasota Florida.

The Ringling Museum, like many other top wedding sites, commands a good chunk of change to book as a wedding event site. The standard pricing for a wedding event at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota is $7,500 for that coveted late Saturday time slot.

Contact Us for Wedding and Reception Reservations at Any Area Venue…

Call: 941-726-6654 or Use Our On-Site Contact Form.

Get Your Top Wedding Site at a Value Price

Follow my method of booking a top reception venue at value pricing.

It’s clear that just about everyone wants to tie the knot late on a Saturday Afternoon with the reception that follows into Saturday evening.

Why not book your wedding earlier in the day on Saturday or better yet – on an “off day.”

An off day is any day of the week Except late Saturday/Saturday night for most event sites.

My favorite “off day” is Friday, book the wedding for late on a Friday afternoon and carry the wedding reception into the night – why not?

Friday starts the weekend, sure some of the guests would have to leave work a little early to make the wedding vows on time but; the savings can be huge.

Tip: Look for local wedding venues that are owned by Town, City, County or the Federal Government.

Why? Because the cost to rent one of these facilities on your wedding day may be as much as 50 to 75% less than a comparable for-profit venue.

Let’s go back to my Ringling Museum wedding site example

The regular price to rent out the Ringling is $7,500 but; the museum can be booked for a wedding on Saturday morning from 10 am to 2 pm.

The Cheap or Value pricing for a wedding event at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota is $2,500.

The Cost to rent the museum on Saturday morning…Only $2,500, now that’s value pricing. You can rent the Ringling Museum at 1/3 the standard pricing, a $5,000 savings, just by switching the event away from “prime-time.”

Sarasota Florida Outdoor Wedding & Event Planners Here.

My Local Method Works Everywhere for Every Bride

This same method works everywhere and many top wedding reception venues will gladly rent out their facility on off days at a fraction of the cost from their standard pricing.

What brides-to-be need to do is ask around at their (Dream) top wedding venues for these types of deals to find out what’s offered.

Added Benefits to Off-Day Wedding Rental Method

Off-day, not-prime-time wedding events produce added savings.

Value pricing can be expected from all vendors using this method. And why not. Wedding vendors get to book an additional wedding event but, they don’t get to charge full pricing – cheaper/budget pricing is expected using this event booking method.

The Question for Brides

The question is: Would you change your wedding to an off-day to get your dream wedding venue?

Couples need to have this discussion early on so you can book the reception site and plan accordingly. It’s one of the very first things that need to be done in the wedding planning process.

Happy Wedding Venue Hunting.

Sarasota Wedding Planner – Cost

Sarasota Wedding Planners – Costs & Fees

When Brides ask “How Much Does a Sarasota wedding planner Cost,” we answer. How much do Sarasota wedding planners cost is an age old question, and a good one – and brides deserve a good answer about wedding planner fees.

And the answer may mean the difference between doing Sarasota wedding planning ‘DIY’ style or hiring a full time Sarasota wedding planner.

We Include Beach & Outdoor Wedding Planning Help With All of Our Wedding Packages.

Wedding planners in Sarasota and the services they provide are an important element for a busy wedding couple.

While it is true that a wedding planners services and costs can differ dramatically many couples find the money for partial planning services or a ‘day of’ wedding planner.Sarasota wedding planner cost question - Image

I wish there was a quick and simple answer to the cost question, but there is not.

The easy answer is that, a full service wedding planners fee is on average between 10% and 15% of the total wedding budget – that’s the going rule of thumb. This is also an average – you could easily find yourself paying more than the average for a challenging wedding.

Flat Fee Planners, Hourly Planners and Percentage Planners – What ‘Way’ to Pay?

Flat fee planners are just that, they’ll give you a precise amount of service and a set amount of meeting time.

Hourly planners would be better for someone that needs some planning services but is willing and able to do much of the wedding planning work themselves.

Percentage planners might work out better for brides who need extra hand-holding without incurring extra hourly charges – as long as the extra hand-holding time is ok with the planner.

Many wedding planners use a combination of ways to charge.

Brides need to decide which way works best for them.

This becomes a vital question for all the wedding planners that you interview; ask them “how do you charge” for your planning services?

So, it’s not good enough to just find out “how much” —> you want to find out “how,” the wedding planner goes about charging for their services.

Brides should also ask themselves one question before they decide on a wedding planner in Sarasota:

Am I going to need a full time local wedding planner or can I, will I, be able to do some of my own wedding planning? And if so, how much? – Ok sorry that’s two questions.

Be honest about your commitment of time and effort in the wedding planning process. And understand that your involvement in the planning process may change the “way” you want to pay for a wedding planners services.

We Believe…

We believe that good wedding planners should also be paid as the professionals that they are. With that said, we also believe in full disclosure.

The wedding couple should be fully informed as to costs and fees during the planning process. In other words there should be no hidden fees.

Finding and then hiring a good Sarasota wedding planner is a process in-and-of-itself, so get started early.

Hiring the right wedding planner is key to a smooth and happy “I do” so take your time interviewing local wedding planners until you find the one that’s right for you.

Use our Sarasota Wedding Planner Services, it’s Free & Easy!
