We’ve had many brides asking about a reasonably priced reception venue to rent for after their Sarasota / Siesta Key beach ceremony. As you’ll see from the pictures, the grounds at the South Gate Center are great ( 5 Acres ) of  large oak trees with waterfront views from the Phillippi Creek.

The center itself is light and bright with 2 walls of floor to ceiling glass, the center can seat up to 140 with room for dancing and has a large, well equipped kitchen that will make caterers smile. 

The center is also a good choice to have your ceremony, see some pictures below of the grounds at the center.

 The beautiful South Gate social hall, designed by Sarasota School architect Victor A. Lundy, sits on five private acres on the shady banks of Philippi Creek, just off South Gate Circle at Tuttle Avenue and Siesta Drive. The hall is available for rent for your important occasion. It can easily hold 140 guests seated at eight-foot banquet tables, with room left over for a spacious dance floor. Tables and chairs are set up for you according to your personal floor plan. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen available for catering use.

We recently went to the Waterfront Restaurant on Anna Maria Island, of course we wanted to find out if brides would like to have their beach wedding reception or rehearsal dinner there, and here’s what we found out about this restaurant / wedding venue, along with some cool pictures.

This Place Has History

We were told that the Waterfront restaurant was built in the early 1920’s and originally known as “Lorraines Cottage,” the restaurant now lies in the heart of what we call, ‘Anna Maria’s Old Town Neighborhood,’ just off Pine Avenue.

Now; while the restaurants interior clearly has that cozy thing going on, the outside ‘front porch’ is where-it’s-at.

Waterfront Views

Sitting on the restaurants front porch you’re gaze takes you across the street to the beach, then over to Anna Maria’s 100+ year old fishing pier, still further to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge & distant Saint Petersburg shoreline…

That’ll keep you’re eyes busy a while…

But Hey…Don’t get carried away with all the beautiful water views…Because, the fun stuff is goin-on up close and personal…

Down-Home Conversation & Laughter

Just a few feet away locals cruising by chat-up friends in the restaurant…some stop altogether as quick comments frequently turn into conversation & laughter.

Stoneybrook Country Club in Sarasota is a wonderful location for a Sarasota wedding or wedding reception. Located in the Palmer Ranch community just a few miles east of US 41, Stoneybrook is one of the nicest golf & country club locations for wedding ceremonies in the central Sarasota area.

Wedding Receptions at Stoneybrook 

From the sun filled dining area, (which accommodates around 210 guests seated or 180 guests buffet style), Stoneybrook also makes for a really nice wedding reception location too. Stoneybrook charges a flat rental fee of $500 for the main dining area, in-house catering is required.

The bar and smaller terrace room are adjacent to the main dining area and both can be included into your wedding reception at an additional fee of only $150 – I really liked the terrace room, lots of windows, great views and yet it has a very cozy & comfortable feel.

Stoneybrook Country Club also provides 2 private rooms where you can hide away. The “Garden” room is perfect for the bride & bridesmaids (can you say “dress & makeup”). The other room could be used as either a playroom for young children or for the groom & groomsmen to hang out in.

And their is No additional charge for these 2 rooms – they come included.

Weddings at Bent Tree Country Club

Bent Tree Country Club is just a couple miles East of I-75 directly off Bee Ridge Road.

The Golf Course is beautiful, having just recently undergone renovations (Summer 2010) and makes a beautiful backdrop for any wedding ceremony.

With updated greens and landscaping, wedding ceremonies are held on either the 1st or 9th fairway’s, rolling creek and wooden bridge settings.

The wedding photography opportunities from the golf course, gardens and paths are abundant. Let your imagination run wild — the possibilities for unique photo’s at this Sarasota wedding location are almost endless.

Bent Tree charges a flat $500 for the wedding ceremony setup & removal, equipment rental (chairs, runner & arch) would be extra and that’s where our Outdoor Wedding Services come in.

We have wedding Arch’s, Chairs & Isle Runners available which are great for Country Club style weddings and other types of events.

Wedding Receptions at Bent Tree Country Club

The Main Dining Room will accommodate around 150 people seated, including plenty of room to dance your wedding night away. Their is no rental charge for the dining room as long as the catering is done through Bent Tree.

The Grill Room is a little smaller and accommodates seating for up to 100 guests. With floor to ceiling windows, the Grill Room makes for a light and bright wedding reception venue which has a panoramic view of the golf course.
