Sarasota Wedding Location Basics

Back to our Sarasota Wedding Venues home page.

These are basic considerations when location hunting for Sarasota Wedding Locations. Just taking a few minutes going over the basics might save you from a headache or two down the road. The Basics

Now, some people prefer outside wedding locations because of the fresh air and natural surroundings. Others prefer an inside wedding venues because they don’t like bugs and hate to be (hot…cold…-fill in the blank). The options for wedding locations in Sarasota are large, whatever your choice.

While outside wedding locations have scenic backdrops. Inside wedding venues can be just as beautiful and romantic. Either, when put together with thought and careful planning  your Sarasota or Bradenton wedding will become an unforgettable event.

Remember – think about your guests, everyone wants to be comfortable and have a good time at your wedding. Sand at the beach presents challenges for older adults.

Would any of your family or guests have a hard time getting around in the sand? If you mess this part up; you’ll hear about it – beyond forever.

Outdoor weddings and receptions are great fun only as long as the guests are comfortable too. So, go over that guest list with this in mind.

What do you want – outdoor wedding locations or an indoor wedding venue? How about the reception? What about an outside wedding ceremony with an inside reception?

Sarasota Wedding Locations – The Basics

The first idea that comes to mind for Sarasota are all the beach wedding locations. With so many of the best beaches in America wedding couples come to Sarasota from all over the country to tie the knot at the Siesta Key wedding venue. The possible outdoor Sarasota wedding locations are so many that the wedding couple may need to set limits.

Yes it’s a good idea for the bride and groom to set limits on the type of location or number of wedding locations to look at. Looking at everything could easily get over-whelming.

But; beyond the beach location are many other beautiful wedding venues such as the ‘Pavilion at Selby Gardens’ and the gorgeous backdrop of the ‘Crosley Estate from its’ beautiful Patio’ setting, both fabulous Sarasota wedding venues.

Country Clubs are favorite wedding locations here in the Sarasota area with their manicured lawns and designer landscapes. And more than a few country club venues to pick from in this area.

Some of the nicest weather is in the spring months from March to Mid-May and then again in the fall months from October thru Mid-December.

At other times of the year outdoor wedding locations may be better put aside for the climate control of an inside wedding venue.

For example the months of January and February while beautiful and sunny, temperatures are usually cool to cold. And generally too cold for outdoor wedding events.

In the summer months of June, July, August and September the weather is too hot for outside wedding events – exceptions would be either very early or late in the day.

For couples who plan a summer beach wedding location, the ceremony should probable start about an hour before sunset – hopefully the late day sun won’t wilt the wedding couple and guests. I suggest an inside wedding venue for the reception as summer evenings in Sarasota are very warm and humid still.

An option that many wedding couples take here in the Sarasota area is to have the ceremony outside then just walk inside for the wedding reception. And there are many wedding locations on the beach, usually private beach front areas, where you can do this.

Just the ability to walk a few steps from an outdoor wedding ceremony location to an indoor wedding reception is priceless all by itself. And your guests will thank you for it.

The wedding venue & location options seem endless here in the Sarasota area. Sarasota has all the standard types of wedding locations found most everywhere. But in addition to the standard wedding venues, Sarasota has more than its’ fair share of exceptional wedding venues and wedding locations.

The many wedding venue options can also be a problem for many couples. Sometimes all these choices become just too much, an overload so to speak. A tip here is to eliminate venues types that you already know that you don’t want. The more that you can eliminate up-front the smaller the choice pool later.

There aren’t many places like Sarasota where you have an over abundance of great wedding locations & venues to pick from.
